Gabriola Island is a Gulf Island in the Strait of Georgia, 5 kilometres east of Nanaimo. In 2019, Emcon Services Inc., a local road maintenance company, donated eight-acres of forested land to Gabriola Housing Society. The 24-unit townhouse complex consists of 8 triplexes spread out over 2 acres of a 5-acre property. Considerable forest is left in place in the development. Paisley Place prioritizes those who currently live or work on Gabriola and registered members of Snuneymuxw First Nation. The new complex is well located for housing and is right next to Gabriola Island’s commercial village.
