BC Housing and four non-profits housing partners are revitalizing nine acres of land in Saanich known as the Nigel Valley. The existing buildings were constructed in the mid-1970s and are no longer meeting the housing and care demands of the region. The regeneration of this site will create homes across the housing continuum including affordable, assisted living, independent living, and long-term care serving a variety of people. It will also include amenities such as a plaza, park, trails, and local employment opportunities. As part of this greater regional development, Greater Victoria Housing Society is redeveloping a new building that will include day care and commercial space, and be built to a Passive House Design standard.
