Unity is a non-denominational movement that seeks to build personal and spiritual well-being through universal spiritual teachings. Unity of Vancouver’s centre on Oak street close to Van Dusen Gardens, provides space for spiritual practice, workshops and events as well as office space for the organization. They seek to expand and update this space through a redevelopment that includes a 500-seat community theatre, affordable housing, and more. Affordable housing units will target seniors living independently and single parent-led families. Sustainability is also a key pillar of the project vision. They envision that the new development will include green spaces for residents and the public to access, and consideration of sustainable systems within the building.
