Located in the Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood, Loyal Orange Manor and Edward Byers House have provided affordable housing, with rents geared to income, for people over 55 years of age since 1962 and 1971 respectively. The buildings are showing their age and don’t have accessibility features such as elevators. The redevelopment replaces 57 existing units with 157 and are geared to independent-living seniors and people with disabilities. The development is pursuing Passive House Certification.
