Located at East 6th Avenue and Main Street in Vancouver, Aspen offers residents convenient access to parks, transit, shops, and neighbourhood amenities. The 145-unit, pet-friendly building features a restaurant and health centre at street level, along with community gardens and a shared rooftop terrace. Sixteen homes are dedicated to adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, supporting independent living and full participation in the community. The project was part of a City of Vancouver initiative to use surplus and underutilized city-owned land for affordable housing development through partnerships with non-profit housing providers. Rather than selling the land, the City made suitable sites available through long-term leases and invited organizations such as Catalyst Community Developments Society to develop affordable rental housing.
