Bowen Island is a municipality located in Howe Sound across from Horseshoe Bay. In 2005, the municipality purchased land from the Metro Vancouver Regional District that were surplus to regional park needs. These lands are now an important community asset. In 2018, Council entered into a lease agreement with Bowen Island Resilient Community Housing to develop non-market housing. Homes will be in a variety of sizes from studios, to 3 bed family units. Lookout will have an office on-site and be responsible for the operation of the building once complete.

Moderate Income – A home that is available for a monthly rent that is equal to the low-end of rents available in the private market. Also referred to as ‘Middle Income’ and ‘Affordable Market’.
