The Hawthorn replaces Brightside’s former MacLeod Manor of 46 units with a new 100-unit building directed to independent-living seniors, families, and people with disabilities. The development has 20 fully accessible units and 80 adaptable units that are designed to be modified at minimal cost to meet the changing needs of occupants over time. A portion of homes are reserved for members of the Musqueam Indian Band through a MOU.
Built to Passive House standards, the Hawthorn significantly reduces energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
