
Tantalus Manor, a low-rise, privately-owned apartment building with affordable rents was listed for sale by the owner in 2024. With funding from the Rental Protection Fund, Housing Squamish and Hiy̓ám̓ Housing were able to jointly purchase the building. The family-oriented building contains a mix of studios, 1-bedrooms, 2-bedrooms and 3-bedroom units. Tantalus Manor is centrally located a short walk to Downtown Squamish and is adjacent to schools, childcare, bus transit, and other amenities. This project aligns with both organizations’ missions to advance housing solutions in Squamish and among Squamish Nation members. Squamish Housing is an organization established by the District of Squamish as an arms-length non-profit housing provider.
