What is the Affordable Community Housing Program?
The Vancity Affordable Community Housing Program provides grants and flexible low-cost financing to not-for-profit, cooperative and Indigenous organizations to support affordable rental housing development.
Seeded by Vancity credit union in 2011, the Accelerator Fund’s loan program has grown to $25 million, through a significant contribution of capital from CMHC’s Innovation Fund and by leveraging funds from social impact investors seeking to make a positive impact in their communities by preserving and expanding affordable housing while also generating a return on their capital.
